On-Air at Radio Nasha!!

Playing guitar in a radio session was one of the items in my bucket list when I started playing guitar professionally in 2015, but little did I know that it would be ticked off so soon. On 27th September, 2016, I got the opportunity to play guitar at Radio Nasha 91.9 for a birthday tribute to the legendary Lata Mangeshkar ji. I was accompanied by fellow vocalist Deepashree Shanbhag to make it a duo unplugged set. To celebrate Lata ji's birthday on 28th September, we

pre-recorded a session one day prior, where we played some of her iconic songs. Lata ji has engulfed an entire nation with her euphonious voice that transcended across decades giving enormous emotions to mere words on a piece of paper, conveying their true meaning with some perennial melodies. So when we got the opportunity, it was our honour to dwell upon the iconic songs that she has given us all and present them with a touch of our own. Here is an excerpt of the session:

BANDobast

Another opportunity knocked our doors on 16th November, 2019, when we were a part of the 'BANDobast' segment where independent bands got the chance to showcase their skill-set

on-air. This time I was accompanied by Vocalist Saket Singh Sisodia who also happens to be my band-mate at 1K Ampere, a versatile Hindi cover band that I co-founded in 2015. We were asked to present a tribute to the Indie-pop era that spiced up the music scene across India and encouraged independent musicians and songwriters to bring out their own music. We talked about our instigation into music, the metamorphosis from a rookie to a seasoned musician, the endeavour to break the shackles of our own limitations, and among all the adoration that we receive, our promise to always maintain an unostentatious outlook. Here is an excerpt of the session:

Ghar Baithe BANDobast

The year 2020 is a rather forgettable period in all our lives as it brought all of the earthly life to a standstill due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus. While it brought a deep sorrow, suffering, and chaos with it, artists around the world made an effort to uplift the masses by presenting their art online. Instagram live sessions became a mainstay since artists could reach out to larger audiences as everyone was stationed at home as a precautionary measure from the virus. In these trying times, the internet was a great tool to prop up the hopes of millions across the globe. In a similar effort, I became part of the 'Ghar Baithe BANDobast' segment where I produced cover versions for 3 songs that were later aired on Radio Nasha. You can listen to the songs here:

I would like to offer my gratitude to RJ Adaa and the Producer Riya Rautela for giving me the opportunities time and again to present my art in front of the radio audiences. Looking forward to more such occasions with a promise to raise the bar every time.
